Job Summary

  • Transport raw materials and finished goods between work areas or departments as required.

Responsibilities
  • Works as part of a high-performance team to transport both raw material and finished goods.
  • Observes safety rules to create a safe work environment for all employees in the production area while operating a forklift.
  • Transports raw materials, work in progress and finished goods to appropriate areas.
  • Maintains equipment and keeps work area orderly.
  • Assists Material Handler Supervisor with establishing stock locations for all raw materials and reports any shortages of stock.
  • Performs cycle counting of all raw materials, finished goods and works in progress to include but not limited to generating clearly written count sheets, performing physical audits, investigating discrepancies, measuring accuracy levels and being prepared for the audits.
  • Cross-trains in the Shipping Department.

Education &/or Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Prior forklift experience preferred (3 years)
