Job Summary:
The Annealing Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring annealing furnaces and related equipment to heat-treat metal wire and strip products. This role ensures that materials meet specified mechanical and metallurgical properties by following precise temperature and time cycles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate annealing furnaces according to production specifications.
- Monitor temperature controls, timers, and gauges to ensure proper heat treatment.
- Load and unload coils or strips of metal into furnaces using hoists or forklifts.
- Inspect materials before and after annealing for quality assurance.
- Record process data and maintain accurate production logs.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.
- Collaborate with quality control and production teams to resolve issues.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing or metal processing environment preferred.
- Familiarity with annealing processes and furnace operation is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and work orders.
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Pay Details: $22.00 to $28.00 per hour
