Adecco Staffing is working with a manufacturing company in Portsmouth, NH to bring on assembly technician. This is a full time, direct hire position.

Job Title: Assembly Technician
Pay : $20 – $24 depending on experience
Shift: 1st Shift Hours

Position Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Assembly Technician to join our production team. The ideal candidate will have experience in fiber optic cable assembly and testing, as well as the ability to interpret technical documents and work with precision. This role involves the preparation, termination, inspection, and testing of fiber optic components used in advanced assemblies.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and production documentation to accurately complete assignments.
  • Prepare components for assembly, including cleaning, verifying part numbers, performing fit checks, and grit blasting when required.
  • Process fiber optic cables by cutting, stripping, cleaning, and inspecting them to ensure readiness for termination.
  • Perform fiber optic terminations using specialized tools, epoxy application, crimping methods, and quality inspection techniques.
  • Execute fiber optic polishing using proper sequences, polishing papers, and equipment to meet required standards.
  • Conduct optical performance testing, including return loss and insertion loss measurements, and document results using test jumpers and appropriate equipment.
  • Maintain organized and high-quality work practices while adhering to production and safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to clarify instructions and accurately record data and results.

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2–3 years of hands-on experience in complex cable or fiber optic assembly preferred.
  • Basic understanding of written instructions, safety regulations, and technical manuals.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
  • Ability to apply basic math and measurement skills to technical tasks.
  • Comfortable using hand tools and working in a cleanroom or controlled environment setting.

Pay Details: $20.00 to $24.00 per hour
