Business Development Manager (BDM)
Salary 75k plus 4% Commission
Overview
Our client is an owner-operated company with over 30 years of success in the landscaping industry. We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager (BDM) to drive maintenance contract sales, identify new business opportunities, and contribute to long-term growth. The BDM will work closely with the Operations team and sales support to meet and exceed annual sales targets while building and maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities

Identify and develop new business opportunities through market research, cold-calling, and lead generation.

Build and nurture client relationships to drive long-term sales growth.

Present tailored solutions to clients and successfully convert prospects into long-term contracts.

Generate job estimates and proposals, including scope of work, labor, materials, and pricing, in collaboration with Operations.

Respond promptly and professionally to client Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and attend pre-bid meetings.

Maintain a client database to track sales efforts and provide visibility to management.

Attend trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities to enhance market presence.

Ensure seamless client transition from contract signing to project execution through site walkthroughs with Operations.

Meet or exceed annual sales targets and contribute to the company’s strategic growth initiatives.

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, horticulture, or a related field (preferred).

5+ years of business development or sales experience, preferably in commercial property management, HOAs, or institutional facilities.

3+ years of B2B sales experience.

Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and project management software.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Preferred Certifications & Requirements
-
Valid driver’s license (required).

Certified Landscape Technician (CLT) (preferred).
-
Additional landscaping or horticultural certifications are a plus.
Pay Details: $75,000.00 per year
