RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set up and operates one or more CNC machines
Follow tooling instructions and standard charts and applying knowledge of precision machining procedures
Read blueprint and job order for product specifications, such as dimensions, tolerances, and number of parts to be ground, and tooling instructions, such as grinding speeds, feed rates, holding fixtures, and grinding wheels to be used
Mount grinding wheel and regulating wheel on spindles, change as needed when worn
Dresses wheels to specifications, using dressing device
Moves controls to set specified speeds, feed rates, and spacing between wheel faces
Positions and secures work rest at specified height
Lifts and positions workpiece and secure between wheels and on work rest
Verifies dimensions of workpiece for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and preset gauges
REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Minimum 3 years’ experience
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and machining instructions, procedure manuals, mechanical drawings, and specifications
Ability to add, multiply, divide and subtract four-digit numbers with the ability to perform these operations using units of measurement, volume, and distance
Basic understanding of Geometry and Trigonometry
CNC programming experience preferred
