Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up, program, and operate CNC machines (lathe and/or mill) to produce precision parts according to customer specifications. This role requires strong attention to detail, technical knowledge, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The ideal candidate will maintain high standards for quality, safety, and productivity while working in a clean, organized manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities:

Primary Duties:

  • Set up and operate CNC and manual machinery for production runs.

  • Program CNC machines at the control as needed.

  • Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate production.

  • Perform in-process inspections to verify part conformance to specifications.

  • Document production activity and maintain accurate records.

  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety guidelines and company standards.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

  • Report defective materials or equipment issues to supervisors.

Secondary Duties:

  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to troubleshoot issues and improve processes.

  • Assist with developing processes and tooling setups based on blueprints.

  • Conduct preventive maintenance and minor machine repairs as needed.

  • Operate forklifts for material handling.

  • Explore and implement new machining strategies for improved efficiency.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Organize tooling and workspace for efficiency.

  • Mentor and train junior machinists or new employees.

  • Provide input on new job quotations and process planning.

  • Communicate with the Operations Manager on job performance and profitability.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or trade school graduate preferred.

  • 2–5 years of hands-on CNC machining experience in a production or job shop environment.

  • Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills.

  • Solid mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining fundamentals.

  • Ability to perform accurate math calculations (fractions, decimals, basic geometry).

  • Basic computer skills for data entry and machine interface operations.

  • Effective problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods (up to 80% of shift).

  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment.

  • Regular lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and kneeling.

  • Capable of performing machining tasks such as milling, turning, drilling, tapping, sawing, and sanding.


Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to dust, fumes, and machining noise.

  • Temperature-controlled (heated and ventilated) workspace.

  • Must follow all PPE and safety regulations.

    Hours: 1st shift
