JOB DESCRIPTION
Position:             Curing Operator                                          
Reporting to:     Production Supervisor/Team Lead                        
Summary:          Operates curing molds to manufacture tires in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), quality requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), production plans, maintenance schedules and environment, health and safety procedures. May assist with training new operators.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate curing molds, including mold start-up, routine & non-routine material changes and shut down as required.
  • Make curing mold adjustments to optimize machine performance in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), quality requirements and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to meet production schedule and quality standards.
  • Perform routine and planned maintenance activities in accordance with SOP’s and PM requirements to minimize machine downtime and scrap.
  • Diagnose faults and implement corrective actions to minimize machine downtime and scrap. Ensure proper record keeping followed daily – production and quality tracking, etc.
  • Maintain housekeeping of defined equipment areas by adhering to the guidelines of the GMP / 5S and best practice systems.
  • Communicate machine status and performance to the following shift team to ensure effective shift changeovers
Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be able to perform the essential required job functions while standing on feet for long periods of time and working around heat producing systems and equipment.
  • Able to read and apply work instructions and product specifications, along with ability to properly complete record keeping duties.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and team work abilities
  • Able to effectively use common production and inspection tools/gages
  • Basic computer skills to input and track information
  • Able to lift 30 to 50 lbs repeatedly
  • Available to work assigned shift including overtime and weekends as necessary.
  • High school diploma or GED required


Pay Details: $18.00 to $19.00 per hour
