Job Title: Customer Service Specialist
Location: Stafford Springs, CT
Pay Range: $18 – $28 per hour (based on experience)
Shift: First Shift
Employment Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week)


Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Customer Service Specialist to join our team in Stafford Springs, CT. This role is responsible for managing customer interactions and documentation related to order entry, estimating, and general customer support. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working independently while maintaining high standards of service.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain quality standards and halt production if necessary to ensure compliance

  • Provide support across departments as needed

  • Review blueprints and specifications; recommend changes when applicable

  • Prepare and process estimates, sales orders, and job travelers in the ERP system

  • Review pricing history and generate accurate quotations

  • Communicate order acknowledgments and delivery updates to customers

  • Conduct follow-ups after quotes and sales

  • Collaborate with team leads on quality issues and resolutions

  • Document critical customer interactions using call management systems

  • Review part pricing and make necessary adjustments

  • Perform account reviews and analysis

  • Follow standard work procedures for all core processes


Qualifications by Level:

Level 1 – Entry Level:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Solid math skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office

  • Basic understanding of blueprints and specifications

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively

  • Capable of processing standard repeat and new item orders in ERP with minimal support

Level 2 – Intermediate: (Includes all Level 1 qualifications)

  • Advanced understanding of blueprints and MIL Standards

  • Ability to compare estimates to orders and assist in package estimating

  • Strong knowledge of customer quality requirements

  • Proficient with customer account setups and portals

  • Able to handle more complex (level 2) orders and estimates independently

Level 3 – Advanced: (Includes all Level 1 & 2 qualifications)

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and customer portals

  • Deep understanding of military/government contracts

  • Able to manage complex (level 3) orders and gang jobs

  • Familiar with sub-assemblies and kitting processes

  • Skilled at consulting with customers to engineer parts based on requirements


Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant customer service or estimating experience

Pay Details: $18.00 to $28.00 per hour
