Title: Dental Precertification Coordinator 
Pay rate: $27/hr - $28/hr 
Duration: Long term assignment 6-12 months with possible extension or hire
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8 am – 4 pm or 8:30 – 4:30 pm
Location: 110 Bergen Street, Newark NJ

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prior Authorization and Precertification:

    • Work with providers and obtain prior authorization and pre-certs for surgeries.

    • Be responsible for securing records for insurance companies.

    • Work with doctor’s offices, law offices who request records for the Division.

  • Administrative Duties:

    • Verifying insurance coverage and obtaining necessary pre-authorizations. 

    • Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation. 

    • Managing surgical billing information and coding. 

    • Tracking surgical cases, including completed and pending procedures. 

    • Managing surgical inventory and supplies. 

  • Scheduling and Coordination:

    • Scheduling surgical procedures, including coordinating with surgeons and other relevant staff. 

    • Ensuring adequate time and space is allocated for each surgery. 

    • Managing surgical schedules, making adjustments as needed based on physician availability. 

    • Coordinating pre-operative appointments, testing, and consultations. 

    • Managing post-operative care coordination, including follow-up appointments.

  • Patient Management:

    • Ensuring patients understand their insurance benefits and out-of-pocket expenses. 

    • Provide information support on pre-operative and post-operative care.

    • Answering patient questions and addressing concerns.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records and other software systems.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures (preferred).

  • Knowledge of insurance verification and pre-authorization processes.

  • Ability to handle confidential information and maintain patient privacy

  • Dental EMR-axiUm or related systems



Pay Details: $27.00 to $28.00 per hour
