Now Hiring: Finance Director
Location: Carolina, Puerto Rico
Client in the Higher Education Sector
Our client, a respected institution in the higher education sector, is seeking a results-driven and experienced Finance Director to lead and oversee its financial operations. This senior leadership role reports directly to executive leadership and is critical to ensuring strong financial management, compliance, and institutional sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
-Lead Finance Office functions including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, procurement, and general accounting
- Prepare and manage the institutional budget; analyze monthly variances
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional financial regulations
- Coordinate annual external audits and address findings
- Develop and enforce financial policies and internal control systems
- Monitor cash flow and investments; prepare and present financial reports to executive leadership and the Board
- Support initiatives to identify and develop new financial resources
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting or Finance and 5 years of relevant experience
OR
Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance or Accounting
OR
CPA license and 3 years of relevant experience
Preferred Skills:
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, nonprofit and fund accounting, and financial reporting
- Familiarity with GAAP and financial regulations applicable to educational institutions
- Bilingual communication skills (Spanish and English)
- Excellent analytical and leadership abilities
- Proficiency with financial systems and tools-
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
Additional Information:
This position may require occasional travel, extended hours, and availability during weekends or holidays, depending on institutional needs.

Pay Details: $56,400.00 to $68,000.00 per year
