Position Overview:
The Draftsman is responsible for producing precise 2D and 3D drawings that support the fabrication, installation, and manufacturing of modular buildings. This role plays a key part in bridging design intent with manufacturing execution, ensuring accurate translation of design data into production workflows, including integration with the company’s ERP system.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed fabrication drawings for structural, mechanical, and architectural components.
  • Develop installation drawings to support on-site construction teams.
  • Create and maintain 3D models used for fabrication and manufacturing planning.
  • Ensure all drawings meet internal standards, industry codes, and modular construction best practices.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and production personnel to resolve design issues.
  • Assist in ERP system integration by linking model data to bill of materials (BOMs), cut sheets, and production scheduling modules.
  • Maintain version control and organize drawing files for each project.
  • Participate in design and coordination meetings, offering technical input and receiving feedback.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the drafting process, fabrication efficiency, or model accuracy.

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree or higher in Drafting, Design Technology, or related field.
  • 3+ years of drafting experience in construction or manufacturing (modular experience preferred).
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and/or Inventor.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, tolerances, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience working with or integrating into ERP systems (e.g., Epicor, M1, Acumatica).
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree or higher in Drafting, Design Technology, or related field.
  • 3+ years of drafting experience in construction or manufacturing (modular experience preferred).
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and/or Inventor.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background in modular construction or prefabricated building systems.
  • Familiarity with MEP layout drafting and coordination.
  • Experience in creating rendered 3D models and visual walkthroughs.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:
  • Standard office setting with extended periods of computer work.
  • Occasional visits to manufacturing floor or job sites may be required.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
