Are you a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Professional of the Healing Arts (LPHA) with a passion for making a real difference in your community? We're seeking an Emergency Response Clinician to join our team of vital first responders, providing immediate support and critical resources to individuals and families navigating substance use and co-occurring disorder crises.

About the Role

In this pivotal role, you'll be on the front lines, working directly with individuals and their support networks during pre-crisis or crisis situations. You'll not only provide immediate, on-scene assistance but also empower individuals and families to understand their options, overcome systemic barriers, and access the comprehensive care they desperately need. This is more than a job; it's an opportunity to be a lifeline, advocating for those in vulnerable moments and guiding them towards recovery and stability.

Key Responsibilities

As an Emergency Response Clinician, you will:

  • Respond to Emergencies: Partner with the ILI team to provide on-scene support during substance use disorder and co-occurring disorder-related emergency calls.

  • Provide Immediate Support & Connection: Remain on scene with a peer team member, offering crucial support and facilitating connections to ongoing resources.

  • Empower Individuals & Families: Guide families and individuals through the complexities of addiction, helping them navigate insurance barriers and access appropriate treatment systems.

  • Facilitate Critical Referrals: Make direct referrals to the Orange County Crisis Call Center for ongoing resources, services, and peer supports, including the Mobile Response Team when necessary.

  • Educate & Inform: Provide essential harm reduction education and training to individuals residing with or supporting someone experiencing an emergency.

  • Connect to Community Resources: Maintain and apply up-to-date knowledge of community resources to effectively connect individuals with additional treatment or services.

  • Advocate for Rights & Access: Assist individuals with substance use and co-occurring disorders in protecting their rights, resolving complaints, accessing services, and navigating community supports of their choice.

  • Maintain Accurate Records: Ensure timely and accurate completion of all required reporting and record-keeping, including statistical reports.

  • Actively Participate in Professional Development: Engage fully in all meetings and training sessions, particularly those relevant to substance use disorder, co-occurring disorders, transition, and diversion.

Qualifications

  • Licensure: Must be a Licensed Professional of the Healing Arts (LPHA), including:

    • Licensed Social Worker (LMSW or LCSW)

    • Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)

    • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)

    • Licensed Creative Arts Therapist

    • Licensed Occupational Therapist

    • Registered Nurse

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of one year of management/supervisory experience is required.

    • Lived experience with substance use recovery (personally or through a family member/friend) and comfort with self-disclosure as needed is a significant plus.

  • Knowledge & Skills:

    • Strong working knowledge of the recovery process and a genuine willingness to promote multi-pathways to recovery.

    • Proficient data entry and computer software skills.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

    • Exceptional time management skills and the ability to be self-directed and work autonomously.
