Job Title: Engineering Lab technician
Reports To: VP Engineering
Salary: $25 per hour +/-
Location: Bethlehem, PA

Overview:
The Lab Technician is responsible for executing electrical and electronic testing on prototype systems, subsystems, and components to verify functionality against defined power and control specifications. This role supports engineering and product development teams through hands-on testing, data analysis, and collaborative problem-solving. Experience with PCB verification and inverter-based systems is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
• Interpret technical specifications, schematics, and wiring diagrams to determine test procedures and required equipment
• Perform functional tests on electrical/electronic systems, subsystems, and components under varying conditions (e.g., voltage, load, temperature)
• Set up and operate test equipment such as signal generators, power supplies (AC/DC), oscilloscopes, and frequency meters
• Monitor and record electrical parameters including voltage, frequency, capacitance, and distortion, comparing data against specifications
• Document test results clearly; plot graphs and maintain accurate test records
• Diagnose and analyze test data to identify performance issues or component malfunctions
• Collaborate with engineers and other technical staff to troubleshoot and refine testing methods and results
• Conduct UL-compliance testing on inverter units
• Familiarity with IGBT/MOSFET inverter topologies and Lead-Acid Battery technologies is preferred
Qualifications:
• Associate’s Degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Technology, or 2+ years of relevant technical training/experience (military, trade school, or industry)
• Proficient in reading technical documentation and using standard test equipment
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Physical Requirements:
• Regularly required to use hands for handling/testing components, and to communicate clearly
• Frequently required to stand or sit for extended periods
• Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crawl
• Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs
• Visual acuity required for detailed inspection and test setups

Pay Details: $52,000.00 to $55,000.00 per year
