Engineering Manager:

The Process Engineering Manager will oversee all technical aspects of our green sand molding operations, ensuring consistent, high-quality output while driving efficiency, innovation, and cost savings. This role is critical to enhancing foundry performance, product quality, and employee safety.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the process engineering team, providing technical guidance and professional development.

  • Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes within the green sand foundry (molding, coremaking, melting, pouring, cooling, shakeout).

  • Analyze production data and KPIs to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.

  • Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and operations teams to enhance process reliability and product integrity.

  • Lead root cause analyses and continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies.

  • Specify and implement tooling, equipment upgrades, and automation solutions.

  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.

  • Evaluate and test new materials, technologies, and methods for improving process control and casting quality.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree a plus.

  • 7+ years of process engineering experience in a foundry environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.

  • Deep expertise in green sand molding processes (ferrous and/or non-ferrous).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; experience with SPC, DOE, and FMEA.

  • Familiarity with foundry simulation software, CAD, and ERP systems.

  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.


Preferred Skills

  • Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification.

  • Experience with automation and Industry 4.0 technologies.

  • Knowledge of casting defects and metallurgical troubleshooting.

    Pay range for this position: $110,000-$120k. Full Benefits include health, life, dental and vision insurance. Plus 401k match.

 

Pay Details: $110,000.00 to $120,000.00 per year
