Position Overview:
This is a position related to client’s use of FTZ procedures of their distribution facilities. Inherent in this process are responsibilities for analysis of import and trade related data; knowledge of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations; familiarity with FTZs; and an understanding of inventory control.
Responsibilities:
CBP Reporting and Compliance: 40%
• Prepare FTZ related data and supporting documentation for submission of forms to CBP on a daily and weekly basis
• Assist with CBP valuation, classification and reporting issues.
• Review daily FTZ Variance Reports
• Support Panasonic FTZ operations with tariff risk mitigation efforts
• Post entry summary correction execution
ICRS Operation and Inventory Control: 30%
• Operate FTZ ICRS by managing daily inventory balances; monitoring zone admission data; and conducting weekly estimate (import and export) process.
• Work with distribution center (operated by a third party) to proactively address and resolve any daily inventory issues; verify inventory transactions, including but not limited to receipts, shipments and inventory adjustments; investigate and take action on overages and shortages.
• Participate in cycle counts and / or physical inventory activities on a high level but continuous basis.
Support Relationships with FTZ related parties: 15%
• Ensure proper FTZ procedures including the management of data relating to inbound receipts; timely reporting of admissions and the CBP clearance of goods shipped from both FTZs.
Risk management: 15%
• Assist client in risk management for FTZ purposes by reviewing CBP documentation, auditing FTZ transactions, complying with CBP and FTZ Board requirements.
• Miscellaneous tasks include working with brokerage team, information management team, compliance team and inbound logistics to assist in any necessary information needed between departments.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain logistics/distribution related field, or equivalent years of experience.
• A minimum of 3 years practical experience in handling customs and international trade related issues; Inventory control; warehousing OR equivalent experience is required.
• A current customs broker’s license is preferred
• Must be a US Citizen.
• This position should possess a working knowledge of inventory control systems, warehousing and logistics activities including import and export activities and Customhouse brokerage.
• A practical knowledge of the US FTZ program and CBP compliance best practices and regulations is also required.
• Must have excellent attention to detail and the mental capability to troubleshoot and solve problems of moderate complexity or difficulty, as well as problem solve in a proactive, methodical manner.
• Must be able to work effectively under the pressure of deadlines and comprehend complex issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be self-motivated and be capable of working as part of a team or alone.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills with emphasis on Excel and Power Point Scope: Job involves a moderate degree of detail and complexity. Job tasks will be performed under moderate supervision.
Pay Details: $33.58 per hour
