We are seeking a detail-oriented Human Resources Specialist in Fort Wayne, Indiana to support our client’s Human Resources Manager in daily HR operations and providing excellent communication to employees regarding their payroll and benefits inquiries. The HR Specialist will manage and process payroll for both hourly and salaried employees across multiple states. In this role, you will ensure timely and accurate payroll processing, maintain employee records, and assist employees with onboarding and benefit setup. You will be responsible for monitoring timecards, ensuring compliance with payroll laws, and maintaining HRIS data integrity.

 

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Manage and process payroll for multi-state hourly and salaried employees.

  • Monitor employee timecards and approvals to ensure accuracy.

  • Assist employees with setting up their benefits and administer benefit programs.

  • Perform benefit reconciliation and ensure compliance with benefit regulations.

  • Ensure payroll is processed accurately and meets deadlines.

  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues.

  • Stay informed on changes to payroll laws and regulations; implement necessary changes to ensure compliance.

  • Maintain system records, including new hire setup, terminations, garnishments, and other payroll-related functions.

  • Ensure overall accuracy of employee data within the HRIS/payroll system.

  • Gather, process, and analyze payroll data for reporting purposes.

  • Develop and run reports using the HRIS/payroll system.

  • Onboard new employees and ensure they are set up in the HRIS system.

  • Communicate with employees to resolve payroll and benefit-related inquiries in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Assist the HR Manager in day-to-day HR functions and tasks.

 

**Qualifications:**

  • Combined 5 years’ experience in human resources, payroll processing and benefit administration.

  • Familiarity with multi-state payroll requirements and regulations.

  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems; experience with Paylocity is a plus.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to analyze data, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively assist employees.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.



Pay Details: $30.00 to $33.00 per hour
