Human Resources Generalist

Reporting to the HR Manager with a dotted line to the Director, the Human Resources Generalist plays a critical role in aligning business objectives with employees and management across designated business units. Responsible for a wide array of HR functions including employee relations, recruitment, compliance, benefits, compensation, leadership coaching, and HR process improvement, this position acts as a catalyst for driving business outcomes. The HR Generalist will enhance leadership capabilities, elevate the employee experience, provide strategic HR insights for business decisions, and develop targeted people strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with EHS Manager to prioritize safety and maintain a safe work environment through policy development and implementation.

  • Partner with business unit leaders to support business plans, align HR strategies with operational needs, and drive initiatives related to hiring, retention, and training.

  • Foster positive work relationships, boost morale, and enhance productivity and retention through effective engagement with management and employees.

  • Manage and resolve employee relations matters, conducting thorough investigations and collaborating with HR Manager on complex issues such as workplace harassment and discrimination.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and regulations, ensuring compliance and mitigating legal risks. Represent the organization in unemployment insurance hearings and investigations.

  • Coach and mentor managers on employee relations, performance management, and evaluation processes.

  • Oversee recruitment, transfers, promotions, and terminations for non-exempt and plant employees, adhering to established guidelines and timelines.

  • Identify training needs and provide coaching support. Evaluate training programs to ensure effectiveness and follow up to achieve training objectives.

  • Coordinate onboarding processes in collaboration with the lead trainer and ensure completion of new hire paperwork.

  • Administer HR processes and maintain accurate records in HR systems, ERP, and other platforms throughout the employee lifecycle.

  • Serve as a resource for employees on HR systems, benefits inquiries, employee engagement initiatives, and general HR-related inquiries.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field from an accredited institution.

  • 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, preferably within a manufacturing environment; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

  • Professional certification such as PHR or SHRM-SCP is a plus.

Pay Details: $75,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year
