Job Title: Lab Support Operator I
Location: Torrance, CA (On-Site)
Shift: 2nd Shift – 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM, Monday to Friday
Pay Rate: $18/hour
Assignment Length: 6 months (Potential to convert based on performance and business need)
Job Summary:
The Lab Support Operator I plays a key role in the manufacturing and assembly process by performing a range of support tasks to ensure efficient production of chromatography columns and related components. This entry-level position involves working across multiple departments and requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow written instructions, and a willingness to be cross-trained.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and execute work orders to pack chromatography columns
Maintain stock levels and ensure proper supply of solvents, hardware, and materials
Assemble components and products per established procedures
Assist in the manufacturing of security guard cartridges in various sizes
Participate in recycling processes for failed columns
Perform cycle counts and support inventory accuracy
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area
Collaborate with team members and rotate through the following departments:
Sorbent Room: Weigh and label sorbents, pull appropriate column assemblies
Product Assembly: Assemble column hardware (end fittings, frits, tubing)
Security Guard: Pack sorbents into guard hardware
Recycling: Unpack and recycle materials following procedures
Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma or GED
1 year of experience in manufacturing, operations, or assembly (preferred but not required)
Ability to follow written instructions and standard procedures
Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
Basic problem-solving and time management skills
Comfortable working in a team and rotating tasks as needed
Preferred:
Experience with inventory systems or cycle counts
Previous experience in lab or production settings
Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
Pay Details: $18.00 per hour
