We are currently seeking a full-time, direct hire Licensed Therapist in Richmond, VA. This opportunity is at a new but proven program, assisting incarcerated individuals prepare for release. Requirements:
- Master’s degree in counseling, social work, behavioral health, or related field
- Independent clinical license
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working in mental health and substance use disorders
- Ability to pass DOC security clearance
- Driver’s license
Job duties:
- Conducting group sessions within a correctional facility
- Providing frequent, supportive communications
- Preparing for sessions in advance to maximize effectiveness of interactions
- Evaluating and documenting progress and support
- Building a bond of trust to ensure smooth transition to post-release services
- Documenting sessions in electronic record system, including noteworthy interactions or changes
- Working collaboratively with care teams, providing feedback on progress as well as recommendations
- Participating in internal meetings as needed
