Machine operators, also known as production operators, are responsible for operating machinery safely and efficiently in manufacturing plants to produce goods. Their duties include:
Setting up and adjusting machines
Before each production cycle, machine operators may set up machines and adjust settings like speed
Maintaining machinery
Machine operators perform routine maintenance and minor calibrations to ensure machines run smoothly and efficiently
Inspecting machinery
Machine operators check the functionality of safety features and perform inspections to ensure machines are operating safely and efficiently
Fixing machines
Machine operators fix broken-down machines
Following procedures
Machine operators follow standard operating procedures, production instructions, and health and safety guidelines
Solving problems
Machine operators may troubleshoot issues that arise during the manufacturing process
Maintaining quality
Machine operators work to ensure the quality of the machine-produced outputs
Keeping records
Machine operators may create and manage records of approved and defective units or final products, as well as activity logs
Pay Details: $18.00 to $24.00 per hour
