Material, Planning & Logistics Manager
Adecco is now hiring for one of the largest manufacturing companies, and this is your chance to work with them in the Santa Barbara area! This is a temporary position covering someone out on leave.
The Material, Planning & Logistics Manager supervises and coordinates team members in the departments responsible for planning and procurement of materials in production, receiving, storing, and preparing product for shipment. Experience with Lean manufacturing methodologies desired, inventory management, material planning, leadership and distribution.
Responsibilities:
Leads the location specific logistics, materials, and production planning initiatives
Assures adherence of safety specifications and processes in the logistics areas that use powered industrial trucks and manual material handling equipment
Oversight of Logistics/TMS support- carrier related concerns
Leads and supports of material handling improvements
Uses Lean manufacturing methodologies in the value chain to drive continuous improvement
Works with Sales, Inventory, Operations, Planning led to drive inventory reduction projects
Ensures level loading of the production planning processes for inventory optimization
Supports development and maintenance of PFEP, replenishment, and flow of material strategies into standardized processes
Measures and owns Logistic Key Performance Indicators such as inventory turns, material variance, on-time delivery (fill rate)
Partners with Manufacturing to ensure coordination of other functions such as production planning, raw and finished goods inventory management
Leads the communication collaboratively within the site support functions and sales team
Ensures teams have processes in place to control non-conformance materials to initiate corrective actions, ensure that the commodities are inspected for conformity with other specifications and checked for defects
Ensures all activities regarding the transport logistics and/or production logistics and/or logistics planning are performed in time and budget
Ensures the project stages are adequately managed, and deadlines are met, ensure that the customer and supplier conditions and requirements are considered
Manages supervisors and underlying employees of the material planning, receiving, inventory management, and shipping departments of the local site to the performance measures and engage in the hiring process of these departments

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree Required
2 years manufacturing and distribution experience required
5 years logistics and material management preferred
5 years of experience in a logistics capacity or similar with 3 years supervisory experience
5 years of Purchasing experience
Lean Manufacturing experience desired
Strong computer skills to include working knowledge of ERP systems, and SAP
Effective communication, include speaking, writing, active listening skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
Self-initiative and ability to work under pressure
Interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills necessary to work in a cooperative, positive team approach
Ability to lead, train and mentor employees on a personal & professional level
Must be able to read, interpret, understand and follow instructions, product labels, safety rules, operation and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and schedules
Must possess acute observation skills to ensure safety requirements are met
Ability to stand, sit or be in other physically demanding positions for long periods of time
Must be able to lift a minimum 50lbs.
Shifts Available:
Shifts are available from Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Pay Details: $120,000.00 per year
