Payrate: $44.95/HR + $1.00 shift differential

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled
Mechanical Design & Tooling Specialist to lead the development and improvement of mechanical designs, tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and test equipment. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, providing training, and supporting key initiatives in safety, quality, and continuous improvement. This is a Direct Hire opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and recommend new or modified components to meet manufacturing, engineering, or customer specifications.
- Develop and maintain complex test equipment, dies, tools, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, manufacturing managers, and staff across all levels.
- Support environmental, health, safety, maintenance, and production-flow initiatives.
- Conduct training sessions and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Maintain detailed documentation, reports, and task records in compliance with company standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical drafting and/or tool design;
OR
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Drafting, Tool Design, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of machine tool manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Proficiency in design software such as Unigraphics, SolidWorks, CAD, or equivalent tools.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, engineering specifications, and geometric tolerancing.
- Skilled in advanced mathematical and analytical calculations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and web-based applications.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflicts, collaborate with diverse teams, and support team goals.
- Ability to follow guidance and work independently while meeting deadlines and adhering to attendance and punctuality standards.
