Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is looking for a Sr. Medical Assistant for our client in Teaneck, NJ! This role is onsite / in person.
Type: 5+ month contract, with potential for extension
Pay: $25 to $28 /hr
Schedule: Five to six days a week, shifts vary between 8 am to 8 pm
Location: Pediatrics office in Teaneck, NJ 07666
Responsibilities of the Sr. Medical Assistant:
· Escort patients from the waiting area to exam rooms.
· Record vital signs (height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, etc.).
· Obtain patient history and reason for visit; document in the EMR (Epic).
· Prepare exam rooms and assist providers during examinations and minor procedures.
· Set up and clean medical instruments and equipment.
· Provide support in conducting vision and hearing tests, developmental screenings, and other age-appropriate pediatric assessments.
· Administer vaccines and oral/injected medications as directed by providers.
· Ensure correct documentation of lot numbers, expiration dates, and administration sites.
· Educate parents/guardians about immunizations and potential side effects.
· Collect and label specimens such as throat swabs or urine samples.
· Perform point-of-care tests (e.g., rapid strep, flu, glucose checks) as needed.
· Ensure proper handling and documentation of specimens per clinical protocols.
· Accurately chart patient information, assessments, and treatments.
· Ensure timely and complete documentation to support provider workflow and compliance.
Qualifications for the Sr. Medical Assistant:
· High School Diploma or GED
· Medical Assistant Certification
· Must have availability to work rotating weekends and two closing shifts a week
· Prior experience in Pediatrics or Family Practice setting is preferred
