Job Title: Merchandise Assistance
Adecco is assisting a local client recruiting for accounts Merchandise Assistant jobs. This is a temp to hire opportunity in Framingham, Massachusetts.
The Merchandise Assistant provides administrative and operational support to 2–4 Buyers and one AVP, Merchandise Manager. This role involves high-volume vendor communication, purchase order management, and internal coordination across departments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Purchase Order Management
Prepare and revise domestic and import purchase orders using the Buyer Worksheet system
Ensure PO accuracy and proper documentation, including approvals for letters of credit
Partner with Planning & Allocation to track and expedite POs
Monitor late shipment reports and follow up with vendors to resolve delays
Manage over/under shipments, chargebacks, and cost discrepancies
Verify and maintain ASN/EDI PO data integrity
Vendor Communication
Act as daily point of contact for 50+ vendors across multiple buyers
Address PO inquiries, allocations, and vendor appointments
Maintain accurate vendor records and contact details
Assist with vendor onboarding and relationship management
Administrative & Office Coordination
Organize weekly reports including Buyer Control Files and On Order Inquiries
Support sample management: tracking, organizing, setting up displays, and returns
Coordinate travel and market appointments for Buyers and Merchandise Managers
Maintain sample rooms and purge obsolete materials as needed
Perform general clerical duties (filing, photocopying, faxing) and maintain organized systems
Compliance & Special Projects
Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) by obtaining required signatures
Support ad hoc requests, including pulling sales data and generating spend reports
Assist other Merchandise Assistants and departments as needed
Qualifications
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Proficient in Microsoft Office and purchase order systems
Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Previous retail or merchandising support experience preferred
