Job Title: Merchandise Assistance

Adecco is assisting a local client recruiting for accounts Merchandise Assistant jobs. This is a temp to hire opportunity in Framingham, Massachusetts.

The Merchandise Assistant provides administrative and operational support to 2–4 Buyers and one AVP, Merchandise Manager. This role involves high-volume vendor communication, purchase order management, and internal coordination across departments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.


Key Responsibilities

Purchase Order Management

  • Prepare and revise domestic and import purchase orders using the Buyer Worksheet system

  • Ensure PO accuracy and proper documentation, including approvals for letters of credit

  • Partner with Planning & Allocation to track and expedite POs

  • Monitor late shipment reports and follow up with vendors to resolve delays

  • Manage over/under shipments, chargebacks, and cost discrepancies

  • Verify and maintain ASN/EDI PO data integrity

Vendor Communication

  • Act as daily point of contact for 50+ vendors across multiple buyers

  • Address PO inquiries, allocations, and vendor appointments

  • Maintain accurate vendor records and contact details

  • Assist with vendor onboarding and relationship management

Administrative & Office Coordination

  • Organize weekly reports including Buyer Control Files and On Order Inquiries

  • Support sample management: tracking, organizing, setting up displays, and returns

  • Coordinate travel and market appointments for Buyers and Merchandise Managers

  • Maintain sample rooms and purge obsolete materials as needed

  • Perform general clerical duties (filing, photocopying, faxing) and maintain organized systems

Compliance & Special Projects

  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) by obtaining required signatures

  • Support ad hoc requests, including pulling sales data and generating spend reports

  • Assist other Merchandise Assistants and departments as needed


Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and purchase order systems

  • Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment

  • Previous retail or merchandising support experience preferred

Pay Details: $23.00 per hour
