Our University Human Resources team is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Classification & Compensation Analyst to support equitable and competitive compensation practices that help attract and retain top-tier talent.
🔍 What You’ll Do:
As a key member of our HR team, you will:
Evaluate new, existing, and vacant positions to ensure accurate classification and fair compensation.
Analyze market pay data and participate in salary surveys to maintain competitive salary structures.
Partner with hiring managers to craft job descriptions and recommend salary offers in alignment with policy.
Maintain up-to-date records in HR systems and provide data insights for HR strategy and planning.
Support reorganizations and staffing initiatives with expert classification consultation.
✅ What We’re Looking For:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience with job classification, compensation analysis, and HR best practices.
Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, HRIS systems, and ATS platforms.
Preferred:
Experience with compensation tools and salary surveys.
Familiarity with systems such as PeopleAdmin, Workday, or Banner.
HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent).
Knowledge of state or higher education classification systems, especially the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Pay Details: $31.00 per hour
