Our University Human Resources team is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Classification & Compensation Analyst to support equitable and competitive compensation practices that help attract and retain top-tier talent.


🔍 What You’ll Do:

As a key member of our HR team, you will:

  • Evaluate new, existing, and vacant positions to ensure accurate classification and fair compensation.

  • Analyze market pay data and participate in salary surveys to maintain competitive salary structures.

  • Partner with hiring managers to craft job descriptions and recommend salary offers in alignment with policy.

  • Maintain up-to-date records in HR systems and provide data insights for HR strategy and planning.

  • Support reorganizations and staffing initiatives with expert classification consultation.


What We’re Looking For:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Experience with job classification, compensation analysis, and HR best practices.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, HRIS systems, and ATS platforms.

Preferred:

  • Experience with compensation tools and salary surveys.

  • Familiarity with systems such as PeopleAdmin, Workday, or Banner.

  • HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent).

  • Knowledge of state or higher education classification systems, especially the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Pay Details: $31.00 per hour
