Position Summary:
We are seeking a licensed and experienced Pharmacist to join our team in Houston, TX. This role involves the safe dispensing of medications, patient education, medication compliance monitoring, and the supervision of pharmacy staff. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in sterile compounding procedures and committed to delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care in accordance with state laws and clinical standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately dispense prescription medications and ensure compliance with legal and clinical requirements
Review prescriptions for appropriateness and monitor for potential drug interactions or overuse
Maintain detailed, confidential patient records and ensure proper documentation practices
Provide patient counseling on medication usage, side effects, dosage, and storage
Address patient questions and concerns regarding both prescription and over-the-counter medications
Educate patients on medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
Provide clinical services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management
Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions in compliance with pharmacy standards
Supervise and support pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks
Maintain inventory of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies, ensuring accurate stock levels
Identify and resolve drug-related issues in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals
Work closely with a multidisciplinary team including nurses, pharmacy interns, and other pharmacists
Qualifications:
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
Licensed by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy
Strong knowledge of IV preparation and sterile compounding
Excellent communication, leadership, and patient-care skills

Pay Details: $64.00 to $66.40 per hour
