Knowing the following is key:
Operates equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body.
Positions patients utilizing immobilization devices.
Moves equipment into specified positions and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors.
Explains procedures to patients and addresses their concerns.
Assists physicians with invasive procedures and exposes/ develops films.
Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff.
Provides a safe environment for administering contrast material and follows protocol for correct contrast use and storage.
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Work Experience Requirements:
Two or more years’ experience working as a medical imaging technician.
Experience with customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Pay Details: $29.00 to $43.00 per hour
