Production Maintenance - 2nd shift - Monday thru Friday

Pay rate: $30.00-$35.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday thru Friday
Shift: 2nd shift
Hours: 3:00PM to 11:00PM, plus potential overtime
Requires the ability to work overtime based on work demands
*Initial training may be conducted on 1st shift for up to 2-4 weeks
*This is a non-union facility
Job Responsibilities:
Learn each production line and its operation and be able to run each station.
Examine, test, maintain and repair all plant machinery and equipment to assure safe and efficient operations. May include the design and fabrication of parts.
Perform a variety of duties for preventive maintenance on the production equipment. This may require reading and interpreting equipment manuals.
Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, and make adjustments as needed.
Disassemble, repair, and reassemble equipment, using various tools.
Set up and change over the tooling on machines.
Record and log maintenance repairs and inspections at machine. Communicate all actions, irregularities, repairs, and inspections.
Fully understand and comply with the LOTO procedures.
Comply with plant rules & safety regulations.
Key Job Elements:
• Experience working with packaging equipment required, specifically, flow wrappers (horizontal bagging), liquid line equipment, cartoner machines, glue machines, extrusion machines, conveyors systems, mixing machines, scales, and presses;
• Perform emergency/reactive repairs of production equipment and conduct follow-up evaluations to assess effectiveness of repair;
• Maintain equipment according to Preventative Maintenance program and maintenance work orders;
• Responsible for facility maintenance;
• Complete and submit maintenance documentation and issue new improvement opportunities for review;
• Provide ideas and solutions to unplanned equipment downtime through design change, inspection techniques or conditional monitoring;
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts to mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic controls;
• Read and understand equipment manuals, design drawings and electrical schematics to complete reactive and preventative maintenance;
• Assist in 5S to optimize productivity and sustain a safe and efficient working environment;
• Comply with all plant safety, OSHA and environmental regulations.
Education / Training
• Associates or Vocational degree in a mechanical or electrical field or industrial maintenance or a combination of education and experience.
Qualifications and Experience:
• 5 years of manufacturing/maintenance experience;
• Knowledge and familiarity with mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment;
• Electrical skills and experience with 24Vdc and 3 phase 480V;
• PLC and VFD experience and troubleshooting;
• Identify, troubleshoot and locate I/Os on a PLC (Allen Bradley, Automation Direct, Siemens);
• Wire a circuit that includes safety e-stops; continuous, momentary and timing relays; control heaters; encoders; and other electronic components;
• Fabrication and welding experience, a plus;
• Proven industrial maintenance experience;
• History of strong problem solving and continuous improvements;
• Able to identify and requisition replacement parts;
• Strong attention to detail;
• Willingness to learn new techniques, processes and procedures;
• Competence in computer skills;
• Strong communication skills;
• Ability to work in a highly responsive manner and ensure production schedules are met;
• Willingness to support maintenance activities on other shifts and on weekends as production schedules require;
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form, with operators, supervisors, and managers;
• Our maintenance department is part of our Union;
• Ability to follow written work instructions.
Machines, Tools, Equipment & Work Aids:
Steel toe shoes are required.
Employee must wear safety glasses and ear protection. Gloves and masks/respirators as needed.
Use of personal tools is required. Metrics and SAE wrenches, multi-meter, various drivers, Allen wrenches, flashlight, etc.
