Job Title: RMA Test Technician
Location: San Jose, CA
Type: Temp-to-Hire | Day Shift
Pay Rate: $26–$28/hour
Overview:
Our client in San Jose is seeking an RMA Test Technician to support the repair and testing of returned electronic products. The ideal candidate will bring 0–2 years of hands-on experience in printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) and a strong understanding of hardware and testing environments. This position offers the opportunity to convert to a full-time permanent role after six months of successful employment.
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and resolve production test issues escalated from Repair Technicians
Assist Test Engineers with station setup, modeling, pre-pilot, and pilot runs
Troubleshoot and repair test fixtures; monitor and maintain test station performance
Create and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for testers and operators
Document testing procedures and maintain detailed records of issues and failures
Support the Testing Department with general tasks and projects as assigned
Handle average-weight equipment and components (up to 40 lbs)
Work extended hours or weekends occasionally as needed
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required
0–2 years of experience in PCBA processes, testing methodologies, and industry best practices
Ability to read and interpret test logs and technical documentation
Basic understanding of Linux/UNIX systems
Familiarity with networking equipment (e.g., switches) and computer hardware (CPUs, NICs, memory)
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Ability to adapt to fast-paced and high-pressure environments
Requires walking, standing, repetitive bending, and occasional climbing
Must have vision capabilities including close/distance vision, color identification, depth perception, and focus adjustment
Some exposure to physical risks or manufacturing hazards; safety procedures must be followed
Pay Details: $26.00 to $28.00 per hour
