The Adecco Creative & Marketing team is recruiting a dedicated and mission-driven Senior Editor for a long-term, fully remote temporary/temporary-to-hire opportunity with the world's largest publisher and distributor of children's books, a leading provider of literacy curriculum, and a producer of children's media.

 

The Senior Editor will contribute to the development of educationally appropriate, engaging, and fun print and digital curriculum materials for students and teachers in grades Pre-K/Kindergarten through 2nd grade.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support lead editors, program authors, and other advisers through all stages of development to conduct research, collect and organize data, develop prototypes, manage resources, and create and edit content.
  • Manage digital resources, keep spreadsheets updated, and track materials.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of content through the lens of equity and inclusion.
  • Collaborate cross-divisionally with a range of editors, editorial directors, designers, production managers, and other services.
  • Coordinate and communicate with external vendor-partners, as needed.
  • Seize opportunities to generate new content, design, and organizational ideas
  • Coordinate with production, manufacturing, top editors, and other key stakeholders to meet tight deadlines and budgets.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years experience working as an editor in a similar role
  • Previous digital and print editing experience is required
  • Educational background and/or experience in early education and literacy (Pre-K-2 or K-2) is required
  • Educational background and/or experience with phonological awareness and phonics instruction is strongly preferred
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects on tight deadlines and budgets
  • Experience working in Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat required; experience working in InCopy/WoodWing is a plus
