Adecco Search is currently recruiting qualified and experienced candidates for a direct hire, SERVICE DEPARTMENT MANAGER (School Bus Dealership) Job located in Elmsford, NY. First shift, 7-4, M-F.

We are currently seeking a SERVICE MANAGER to join and lead our School Bus dealership Service Department. Our Service Department features state-of-the-art diagnostic and repair equipment. Our skilled factory-trained and certified technicians deliver efficient, quality truck service.

Job Description

School bus dealership is looking to fill the position of Service Manager.

• Monitor and control the performance and profitability of the department

• Monitor technicians’ productivity

• Maintain good relations with customers

• Recruit, train and retain technicians

• Mentor and advise technicians,

• Make sure the right technician is assigned the right job

• Monitor the warranty process

• Work with other departments as required.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules Service Appointments
  • Greets customers in a friendly manner and obtains vehicle information.
  • Write up customer’s vehicle problems accurately on repair order
  • Open/Close Repair Orders
  • Check on the progress of repairs throughout the day.
  • • Ensure that customers receive prompt, courteous, and effective service

    • Take ownership of the customer's experience by carrying out those additional assignments that allow the dealership to leave a positive impression with the customer.

    • Ensure the daily inventory of technicians' time is consistently sold to service customers.

    • Distribute work between technicians efficiently.

    • Answer technical questions about vehicle problems, warranties, services, and repairs.

    • Maintain customer happiness.

    • Assist in diagnosing vehicle problems, order parts and tools as necessary.

    • Oversee training and supervising of service department.

    • Set schedules and assigns tasks to service department employees.

    • Reinforces company policies and adheres to company standards.

    • Encourages compliance with OSHA, applicable laws and regulations.

    • Maintain good working relationship with factory(s) and foster positive employee relations.

    • Collaborate with upper management to make service department hiring and discipline decisions.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, a mechanical background with at least five years as a mechanic, be diesel engine certified, and at least two years as a foreman/service advisor. Must be customer friendly and be a team player. A valid driver’s license (CDL preferred) and insurability is mandatory.

  • DOT knowledge is a plus
  • At least one year of automotive service experience
  • • Organized and friendly personality

     • Demonstrated ability to manage others

    • Time management skills

    • Fantastic communication skills with your customers

    • Professional, well-groomed personal appearance

    • Consistent record of service and sales success

    • Strong record of positive customer satisfaction results

    • Team oriented and self-motivated

    • Able to work with little supervision

    • Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
