Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Clerk
Location: Fairport, NY
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Job Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire
Pay: $18.50/hr
About the Opportunity:
We’re seeking a detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Clerk to support logistics operations at a busy manufacturing facility. This hands-on role involves preparing shipments, handling incoming materials, and ensuring inventory accuracy. If you’re organized, dependable, and ready to take ownership of key processes - this job is for you!
Key Responsibilities:
Pick up materials from production areas and prepare for shipment
Package and over-pack items as needed, including skids and cartons
Apply appropriate labels, documentation, and cautionary notices
Create and manage Bills of Lading; schedule freight carrier pickups
Receive, inspect, and route incoming shipments to correct departments
Enter data into inventory system and ensure records are up to date
Track parts requiring additional operations or outside processing
Handle scrap and recyclable materials, including operating a cardboard baler
Load/unload trucks using pallet jacks, forklifts, and other equipment
Coordinate with internal teams to resolve shipping discrepancies
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED preferred
Strong English reading and writing skills; able to follow safety documents and instructions
Experience with Microsoft Windows-based programs
Familiarity with UPS WorldShip, FedEx Internet Shipping, and carrier software preferred
Strong organizational and communication skills
Problem-solving and root cause analysis skills a plus
Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, balers, and similar equipment

Pay Details: $18.50 per hour
