Strategic Sourcing Specialist

We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to enhance supply chain operations by negotiating supplier contracts, optimizing procurement strategies, and driving cost-saving initiatives. This role will focus on developing and executing sourcing strategies that align with business objectives, ensuring the supply chain remains efficient, cost-effective, and responsive to company needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies with a focus on low-cost national opportunities, negotiating favorable contracts to drive cost savings.

  • Support negotiation and execution of agreements to ensure lowest total cost, incorporating strategies to mitigate economic and currency fluctuations.

  • Manage the procurement of commodities and aerospace-related components, ensuring alignment with production and operational requirements.

  • Process Requests for Quote (RFQs) and purchase orders, conducting supplier comparisons and presenting data-driven decisions to management.

  • Lead supplier rationalization initiatives, transitioning to optimal suppliers while ensuring uninterrupted production.

  • Establish and maintain Long-Term Agreements (LTAs) with key suppliers to secure competitive pricing and supply chain stability.

  • Conduct supplier site visits as needed to build relationships and maintain oversight of performance and compliance.

  • Prepare reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for on-time delivery, quality, and cost variances, providing insights to senior management.

  • Drive cost reduction initiatives and strategic sourcing projects to meet overall business objectives.

  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance to maintain Approved Supplier Lists (ASL) and ensure compliance with AS9100 and ITAR requirements.

  • Conduct market analysis to identify and qualify alternative suppliers, assessing risk mitigation and cost-saving opportunities.

  • Work cross-functionally with procurement, quality, and finance teams to enhance vendor agreements, improve workflow efficiencies, and track contract modifications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Finance, Material Management, Economics, or equivalent (Advanced degree preferred).

  • 5-8 years of supply chain experience, with a focus on strategic sourcing and procurement.

  • Experience in the aerospace industry preferred.

  • Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier contracts.

  • Proficiency in supplier management, cost reduction strategies, and market analysis.

  • Knowledge of AS9100 and ITAR compliance requirements.

  • U.S. Person status required per ITAR regulations (U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, Asylee, or Refugee).
