In this role candidates will work independently to support mold maintenance and changeovers in alignment with the production schedule. This role is responsible for cleaning, inspecting, and preparing molds, as well as diagnosing tooling issues and collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure optimal mold performance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Follow and update IQMS RT Scheduler mold requirements as directed by the planner.
- Prepare green-tagged molds and move them to the staging area in the molding department.
- Disassemble, clean, and inspect molds for wear or damage.
- Install changeover parts and verify proper fit and function.
- Measure and assess wear on pins, bushings, and other mold components.
- Maintain accurate mold records, including tagging and documentation.
- Utilize Ice Blaster equipment as needed.
- Train and mentor Machinist III-level team members.
- Collaborate with molding team at press side to resolve tooling/molding issues.
- Work with outside vendors and generate requisitions as needed.
- Practice good housekeeping and environmental safety practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in industrial machinery or automotive mechanical work.
- Experience with injection molds preferred.
- Forklift and pallet jack operation experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting work instructions.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Competent in math and reading comprehension.
- Ability to read and use micrometers and calipers (preferred).
- Proficient in interpreting 2D and 3D CAD drawings.
Pay Details: $33.00 to $38.00 per hour
