Commercial Vehicle Equipment Technician – Upfitting & Installation

A well-established commercial vehicle upfitting company is seeking a skilled and motivated Technician to assist with equipment installation, modifications, and upfitting on light and heavy-duty vehicles. Mechanical aptitude is required, and relevant experience is a plus—training is provided for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform assigned repairs and installations according to manufacturer standards, OEM guidelines, and company procedures

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and technical issues

  • Maintain a working knowledge of upfitting and repair techniques

  • Safely move vehicles and equipment around shop and lot

  • Properly maintain tools and service equipment

  • Follow all safety policies and procedures at all times

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment

  • Read and interpret installation and work instructions

  • Install a wide variety of equipment and bodies including:

    • Bodies – Dump, Service, Platforms, Crane, and Specialty Units

    • Equipment – Van shelving, ladder racks, toolboxes, LED lighting, hitches, snowplows & spreaders, lift gates, and more

  • Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors

  • Produce high-quality work with strong attention to detail

  • Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to machinery and moving parts

  • Working around moving vehicles

  • Shop environment subject to seasonal temperature changes

  • High noise levels

Qualifications:

  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools

  • Ability to read and follow written instructions and measurements

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening

  • Able to work in a physically demanding shop environment (standing, kneeling, bending)

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality

Pay Details: $21.00 to $28.00 per week
